About MAC Range Day
Join us for the Military Affairs Range Day as we commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu and have a little fun shooting at the Range Complex in Autryville!
The Range Day Agenda includes a ceremony with guest speakers from the Battle of Mogadishu, an event later retold in the Hollywood movie Black Hawk Down.
The event will end at 3 p.m.
And whether you are a novice or a sharp shooter, there is a bay for you as we open up the range to shooting. Pre-registration is required and wrist bands will be issued in order to shoot. Bring your ammo as well! We encourage you to purchase your ammo from a local Chamber member!
Food will be available for purchase from Red, White and Blue BBQ. Informational tables and vendors will be on site.
Event tickets are $75 which includes a t-shirt, eye/ear protection and shooting privileges.
The event is free for spectators who are encouraged to come out to observe and have lunch with us. No one under 18 is permitted on the Range Complex grounds. Every attendee will need to sign the two waivers on the MAC Range Day event page.
Proceeds will be given to the Armed Services YMCA.
And NEW this year are classes that can be taken! These must be registered for IN ADVANCE and are outlined below:
Course Objective: The student will gain a high level of confidence in the safe handling and operation of an AR-15 type rifle or carbine and show substantial improvement in accuracy and speed of target engagement.
About the Guest Speaker
Stephen DeLellis served more than 36 years on Active Duty, with more than 31 years in Army Special Operations Forces. Steve was privileged to deploy 16 times in support of 6 separate conflicts. He culminated his career as the Deputy Command Surgeon for the United States Army Special Operations Command and previously managed the longest, continuously funded Traumatic Brain Injury research project in Army history. He has co-authored more than 40 publications on TBI, is an Army Medical Department Iron Major, a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit, the 2019 United States Army recipient of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation Hero of Military Medicine award, and an inductee into the Special Operations Forces Medical Hall of Honor, inaugural class of 2024. Steve currently serves as the Executive Director of Geneva’s Fort Liberty Research Institute.
About the Armed Services YMCA
The Armed Services YMCA enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life. Their focus is to provide needed programs and services for single or married junior enlisted personnel and their family members. The Armed Services YMCA Fort Bragg has programs including before and after school, interactive early children education, childcare services, summer camps, emergency food assistance, financial assistance, baby care items and a formal dress closet.

Military life presents unique challenges for the family unit and each individual member by providing experiences to help navigate military life amidst transfers, deployments, increased child care needs and financial burdens.
